However, expectedly now the pause feature will be available for Android users as well. As for now, waveform feature is available for Android users. While we did not find that update in India yet, it is possible that the update has come to some countries. However, there is no official update from WhatsApp on that.
What is special about the voice message features?
More users are now confortable using voice as a tool to interact with their device. The voice messages feature has grown over the years. People now agree that this feature makes it easy to communicate. In a blog post, WhatsApp has written that on an average, users send seven billion voice messages every day. These messages are protected by end-to-end encryption for privacy and security reasons. To make voice messages even better for their users, WhatsApp has been coming up new updates for their voice messages feature.
6 key voice message features by WhatsApp
Out of Chat Playback
This feature allows you to listen to a voice message if you go out of that particular chat. Using this feature, users can multitask, read other messages, and even respond to other messages.
Pause/ Resume Recording
With this feature, a user can pause a recording and resume it whenever he wants.. This feature will be helpful when you need to collect more thoughts or in case you are interrupted.
Waveform Visualization
Waveform visualization feature shows a visual representation of the sound on the voice message to help follow the pattern of the recording. It is visually a lot more logical and appealing.
Draft Preview
We have all been waiting for this feature for a long time. This feature will allow the users to listen to their own recording before sending it to someone else. No boo boos as we sent the wrong (often objectionable) voice notes to the wrong people.
Remember Playback
When a user pauses the recording while listening to it and goes back, he can resume it right where he left once he comes back to the chat.
Fast Playback on Forwarded Messages
This feature will allow WhatsApp users to play voice messages at 1.5x or 2x speeds to listen to messages faster. This is applicable on both regular and forwarded messages. WhatsApp in a blog post also wrote that voice messages have made it easy and quick for the people to have better and expressive conversations. When you show an emotion or excitement through voice, it seems more natural in comparison to a text message. These features will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
